I initially chose to read this book because of the title, to be honest. I thought about how Common Core is attempting to enhance the rigor of curriculum, but couldn't decide where that placed our educational system next to the rest of the world's top countries. Are we catching up? If so, how fast? Shouldn't we be leading the way like we used to? Zhao explains it all. You should make time to read this book. If you love the idea of education reform, the preface alone will pull you in.
