With respect to other research, I realize that our computer lab is nearly obsolete. I feel that the future of testing will rely on laptops, Chromebooks and other portable devices; not desktops. Also, security is—and always will be—an increasingly difficult issue to emphasis, especially with so many unknown factors in the shifting testing paradigm. I’m curious to see how the culture of testing will continue to evolve.
A final aspect that stood out to me is the fact that some schools are using iPads for SBAC testing. I think this is very interesting because of the touch-screen capabilities (as is the case with the new touchscreen Chromebooks). How will this work with the embedded calculator from SBAC? Will it create a divide in the equity issue? Will all students then need to have access to touchscreen devices, not just keyboards, headphones and mice? I think time will tell.
